Teamster's General Election Poll
This poll will remain posted until after the upcoming election in December 2006.

Ballots go out October 6th for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters to elect its next president. The election comes at a volatile time within the Teamsters and the labor movement in general. 
Teamster members will elect the top officers of the union through mail-in ballots in December 2006. James P. Hoffa is running for his second full-term in office. Tom Leedham, from Portland, Oregon is still trying to beat General President Hoffa. Many issues remain unresolved for top leadership and members have concerns. Take the poll to highlight issues that are important to you and then select your candidate.

  • Son of Teamster leader James R. Hoffa
  • Labor lawyer in Detroit for 25 years
  • Beat Leedham in 1998 and 2001 elections

CHALLENGER: TOM LEEDHAM

  • Started as a grocery warehouse worker in Portland, Oregon
  • Has led Local 206 since 1986
  • Directed the Teamsters' biggest division, Warehouse and Food Processing, under Ron Carey, Hoffa's predecessor
